Dennis Okike is the 10th Ultimate champion!

The most anticipated answer to who will be the ultimate
Champion has been provided for fans of the Gulder Ultimate
Search (GUS) reality TV show as Dennis Okike emerge the
winner of GUS season 10.
Dennis Okike has emerged the 10th Ultimate Champion. He
outsmarted Dr.Edmund Umeabuani and Ifunanya Onike in the
waters of Usaka River, Akwa-Ibom State where the final battle
among the warriors fervently seeking for the 10th symbol took
place. On the final day of the search, the warriors got a message
from the Council of Elders ordering them to pack their bags and
make their ways to where they draw water. Chidi awaited them
and gave them the next set of instructions.

The final task was to search for the 10th Symbol. To do that,
each of them would make use of a clue which would take them
to two different locations to retrieve two pieces of the map that
would lead to where the 10th Symbol was buried. Another clue
at their first locations would direct them to the next location.
It was a race against time and the last man to the next location
was evicted. Edmund and Ifunanya’s first clue led them to the
Place of the Talking Drum to retrieve the first map piece; while
Bobby and Dennis went to the Mud Field. Subsequently,
Bobby and Dennis headed to the Place of the Talking Drum for
their second piece while Edmund and Ifunanya raced to the Mud
Field. Edmund returned first, followed by Ifunanya. Dennis
edged Bobby out of the quest when he beat him to the finish
line. Bobby was instantly evicted.
With their maps pieced together, the remaining warriors had all
they needed to proceed to find the Sceptre. On their maps three
spots were marked ‘X’ as possible places the 10th Symbol was
buried. Ifunanya was in the lead, having figured out the
direction first. However her first attempt at crossing the river
with the aid of a rope saw her falling into the water while
Edmund and Dennis moved on.
Edmund arrived first and headed straight to one of the spots
marked on the map and began his search. Dennis joined shortly.
Ifunanya had barely stepped in the river when Dennis raised
what turned out to be a false alarm. All he had was a piece of
debris laying under the river. The protracted search had the
warriors glancing at their maps intermittently as Dennis kept
digging up dirt after dirt from the river.
After many futile efforts Dennis eventually dug up the Sceptre
from under a slant palm tree in the river and thereby ended the
long search for the 10th symbol. He was instantly inducted into
the order of Heroes as the 10th Ultimate Man by Chidi
Mokeme, the Anchor-man.
For his feat, Dennis will win N10 million and a brand new

Mathematics in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri,
has emerged as the first winner of the first ever fans edition of

ASUU STRIKE: NANS Gives Union 7-Days Ultimatum To Call Off Strike

Frustrated by over four months of strike that has kept their
future in the balance leadership of the National Association of
Nigerian Students, NANS zone ‘B’ has given the members of
the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) seven days
to call off and return to the class room.
The Union warned that at the expiration of the seven days
ultimatum they would be left with no other option than to
confront the striking lecturers.
Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, the NANS zone B
financial secretary and the leader in Abia state, Comrade Eluwah
Miracle, said that the students are determined to take their
destinies in their own hands by invoking the last “C” in NANS
system of settling issues which is confrontation
Eluwah accused the members of ASUU of being selfish in their
demands from the federal government and politically motivated
adding that student would no longer watch ASUU destroy
education in the country and jeopardize the future of millions
Nigerian youths.
He said, “NANS Abia state chapter has condemned in strong
terms the on-going nation-wide strike embarked upon by
ASUU, which timing is not only wrong, but also detrimental to
the security and of the country.
Eluwah said that ASUU is claiming that their demands are
genuine, “But their approach and timing is very wrong, because
the world is nows seeing it as being politically motivated and if
they say it is not, they should go back to the classroom, while
negotiation continues with the federal government”.
He maintained that the federal government has done well by
offering ASUU the sum of N600 billion in addition to the N100
billion already made available this year for the funding of the
universities, “which ASUU has rejected under the fragile nature
of the country’s economy”.
On the issue that the funds from federal government has not
been released, Eluwah said, “ASUU is claiming that the funds
have not been released, why should the money be released when
they have not accepted the offer by the federal government and
until they accept the money cannot be released simple”.
He said that there are three Cs in the student Aluta struggle
which include Consultation, Consideration and finally
Confrontation, adding that they have made use of the first two
Cs and will not hesitate to use the last one which is
confrontation.

American Baptist Church Sets To Burn Bibles Today

A Baptist church in the USA has concluding plans to burn
Bibles on
Thursday, October 31. Justifying the planned action, Pastor
Marc Grizzard, of
Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina, said
that the first King James translation of the Bible is the only true
declaration of God’s word, and that all others are “satanic”
bibles Pastor Grizzard and 14 other members of the
church plan to burn copies of the other “perversions” of
Scripture on Halloween, according to a report in Britain’s
Telegraph.
“The New Revised Version Bible, the American Standard
Version Bible, and even the New King James Version are all
pronounced to be works of the Devil by Pastor Grizzard and his
followers, the paper said.
It quoted Pastor Grizzard as saying: “I believe the King James
version is God’s preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible word of
God… for English-speaking
people. We are burning books that we believe to be Satanic.”
As well as inappropriate translations from the original Hebrew
and Aramaic, the pastor and his associates will be burning
books by various Christian authors, as well as music of every
genre.

Solar Eclipse on Sunday 3rd November, 2013

Eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when an astronomical
object is temporarily obscured.
This occurs either by passing into the shadow of another body or
by having another body pass between it and the viewer as seen
from the earth.
The entire African continent would be affected by a partial eclipse,
while some other parts of the world would witness total eclipse. A
partial solar eclipse will occur on Sunday in different parts of
Nigeria.
The partial eclipse would not affect the airspace and doesn’t also
refer to the end of the world.
The partial eclipse as forecasted would also occur in April 2014,
March 2015 and September 2016.
We urge Nigerians to go about their normal businesses and for
those who would like to view the occurrence, wear sunglasses as
this measure would protect the eyes from damage that might arise.
