Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun has revealed that he
kept a low profile to encourage the young and
handsome talents in the movie industry to grow.
Speaking to The Punch on why he toned down on some
of his fashion statements, he said, “The reason why I
toned down on some of my fashion statements is
because of the young boys coming into the industry. I
want them to come and show us what stuff they are
made of.”
‘ I am encouraging the young potential stars to come
into the industry and showcase their talents. If I am
known with a particular character, I would like a young
actor to try it out to show the world he can also do it. I
would give them some time to show the whole world
who they are and later I can continue with the
character if needs be. By then, the actor would have
been known with that identity. But he cannot be known
if I am distracting him with my bold fashion
statements,’ the popular actor revealed.

This followed the review of the salary structure
and associated allowances for the top federal
public office holders earlier carried out by the
National Salaries and Wages Commission.
That review, which took effect on May 1, 2000,

Stable Power Supply Is Underway; President Buhari assures Nigerians yet again

image

President Muhammadu Buhari says careful
studies are already under way to identify the
quickest, safest and cost-effective way to bring
light and relief to Nigerians.
Buhari made the remark in his inaugural speech
on Friday in Abuja shortly after taking the oath
office.
According to him, no single cause can be
identified to explain Nigerian’s poor economic
performance over the years than the power
situation.
“It is a national shame that Nigeria spent close
to 20 billion dollars on power in 16 years only
generate 4,000MW of electricity.
“It is a national shame that an economy of 180
million generates only 4,000MW, and distributes
even less.
“Continuous tinkering with the structures of
power supply and distribution and close to
$20billion expanded since 1999 have only
brought darkness, frustration, misery, and
resignation among Nigerians.
“We will not allow this to go on.
“We intend to attack the problem frontally
through revival of agriculture, solid minerals
mining as well as credits to small and medium
size businesses to kick – start these
enterprises.
“We shall quickly examine the best way to revive
major industries and accelerate the revival and
development of our railways, roads and general
infrastructure,” he said.
The president said that careful studies are under
way during this transition to identify the
quickest, safest and most cost-effective way to
bring light and relief to Nigerians.
Buhari promised to ensure that there is
responsible and accountable governance at all
levels of government in the country.

Chris Brown Move Over Blue & North … Royalty Is A-List Too, Baby

image

Chris Brown just threw down a hip-hop papa challenge
— essentially putting Jay Z and Kanye West on notice
… that his baby girl is gunning for their daughters in
the cute department. It might seem like an odd way to
mark Royalty’s first birthday, but proud daddy Brown
posted a 3-way split of Blue Ivy, North and his
daughter. Worth noting — Chris put Royalty in the key
center slot. So, is he saying these are the cutest celeb
babies out there? Or Royalty is THE cutest of them all?
By the way, Chris deleted the original post … and
added Wiz Khalifa’s son Sebastian, and Tyga’s son King
— so we’re guessing this was just a big daddy shout
out. #fatherfridays
