Universal’s Jurassic World has emerged biggest U.S
debut after roaring a record $208.8 million debut in
North America at the debut weekend.
The figure has been named the biggest of all time by
Box Office throwing behind it Spy with a total of $16m,
San Andreas with $11m, Insidious Chapter 3 with
$7.3m, Pitch Perfect 2 with 5.9m and Entourage with
$4.3m in the first weekend of debut.
Netting a staggering $524 million globally in the first
weekend, Jurassic World has rescued the action-
adventure franchise from the brink of extinction 22
years after Steven Spielberg ‘s Jurassic Park first hit
theaters.
According to reports, the number of viewers at the
theatres to watch the $150 million tentpole was bigger
by Sunday, June 14, 2015 and not even the competition
from the NBA championship game could stop it from
stomping to biggest U.S debut ever.
