Naira just keeps falling in the parallel market, see the value to dollar today

The Naira Wednesday depreciated further to
N270 per dollar at the parallel market, following
reduction of dollar sales to bureaux de change
(BDCs) by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Vanguard Investigation revealed that from N260
per dollar at the close of business on Tuesday,
the parallel market exchange rate rose sharply
to N270 per dollar in Lagos, indicating N10
depreciation.
But in Abuja, the parallel market exchange rate
rose from N262 per dollar to close at N273 per
dollar, indicating N11 depreciation.
BDC operators, who confirmed this development
to Vanguard, said that the sharp depreciation
was due to further reduction in the weekly dollar
sales by the CBN.
President, Association of Bureaux De Change
Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), Alhaji Aminu
Gwadabe to Vanguard that though the CBN
increase the number of BDCs it sold dollars to
from 1,170 last week to 2,270 this week, it
however reduced the amount of dollars sold to
each BDC by 60 percent from $30,000 to
$10,000.

D’banj Speaks On Olamide Song Theft, Explains What Really Happened

Pop star D’banj has explained the allegation of song
theft levelled by his music producer DeeVee against
rap star Olamide.
DeeVee, in a series of tweets had claimed that
Olamide stole a line in his Don’t Stop track from an
unreleased D’banj song called Shake It.
Speaking with Media on Tuesday, December 15,
D’banj said said several musicians come to his
house, listen to songs he is recording or recorded
and get inspired by it.
He said:
“I didn’t know about the message from
DeeVee but the truth is the truth. My
house is open; I have songs you guys
have not heard. I have songs that I’m
about to release with producers you
guys have asked me to work with.
From time, anyone can come into my
studio and listen to our songs and not
just Olamide can come in. To me, it’s
not stealing, I see it as inspiration.
“This particular one, this is a line I
have been saying for a long time,
“Shake it, don’t break it, it took your
mama nine months to make it.” I
actually heard it from Prince Aremo
Oniru. Even Baddo (Olamide) had
played about it saying, “Baba if you no
use this line I go use am o” but I said I
go use am.”
Speaking on his relationship with another Yoruba-
lingo rapper, Reminisce, he described the rapper as
an artiste he likes for his zeal and hustle.
“Reminisce bad boy o cover mi.
Reminisce will be going on tour with
me, Timaya will be on the tour, Olu
Maintain,” he said.
The pop star Dbanj hosted members of the media in
Ikeja, Lagos to a private screening of his soon-to-
be-released visual EP An Epic Journey.

2013.

Mourinho’s final match was Monday’s 2-1
defeat at leaders Leicester City.
Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddink, Juande Ramos and
Brendan Rodgers have all been touted as
possible successors as Blues owner Roman
Abramovich begins another managerial search.
Chelsea statement
“Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have
today parted company by mutual consent.
“All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense
contribution since he returned as manager in the
summer of 2013.
“His three league titles, FA Cup, Community
Shield and three League Cup wins over two
spells make him the most successful manager in
our 110-year history.
“But both Jose and the board agreed results
have not been good enough this season and
believe it is in the best interests of both parties
to go our separate ways.
“The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us
